​The Location:
This massive studio complex is located at 15 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn (Brooklyn Navy Yard)
​Historical Roots: Built in 1920, it was the original home of Paramount Pictures before the industry moved to Hollywood.

The Vibe: It’s a massive, gated “Hollywood East” campus. While you can’t go inside the soundstages without a pass, the historic entrance is a legendary spot for production spotting.


​A “Muppet” Home: Since 1993, this has been the permanent filming home for Sesame Street.
​Cinematic Classics: Interior scenes for legendary films like Goodfellas and The Irishman were filmed right here on these stages.
​National Landmark: It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978 for its role in the early days of American cinema.
🕵️ The Hunt: How to Find It
​The Landmark: Look for the large, iconic white gate and the “Kaufman Astoria Studios” sign on 35th Avenue.
​The Best View: Stand on the corner of 35th Ave and 36th St to get the full building facade in your shot.
​Pro-Tip: While you’re there, walk one block over to the Museum of the Moving Image, which is actually part of the original studio footprint!
