Cinematic Classics: Interior scenes for legendary films like Goodfellas and The Irishman were filmed right here on these stages.
National Landmark: It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978 for its role in the early days of American cinema.
The Hunt: How to Find It
The Landmark: Look for the large, iconic white gate and the “Kaufman Astoria Studios” sign on 35th Avenue.
The Best View: Stand on the corner of 35th Ave and 36th St to get the full building facade in your shot.
Pro-Tip: While you’re there, walk one block over to the Museum of the Moving Image, which is actually part of the original studio footprint!
